Most Distinguished & Distinguished Graduates
The Most Distinguished and Distinguished graduates for Academic Year 2026 have been selected and will be recognized in Friday’s ceremony. The top honors are awarded to the graduating students with the highest cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) and exceptional academic achievement.
This year’s Most Distinguished Graduate is Ayda V. Bautista, receiving her Associate of Science in Liberal Studies – Business Track and the Distinguished Graduate is Bea Annika D. Imbat, earning her Associate of Science in Tourism & Travel Management.
Ms. Bautista earned the recognition through her dedication, leadership, and commitment to personal and academic growth throughout her journey at GCC. In addition to her academic success, Ms. Bautista also served as the GCC Board of Trustees Student Trustee, representing the student voice and advocating for the college community.
Ms. Bautista shared one of the most meaningful experiences during her time at GCC was participating in the college’s recent accreditation visit. “I saw the college from a broader stance, beyond being a student in the classroom,” Ms. Bautista said. “I saw the hard work, collaboration, and accountability that go into maintaining the college and supporting our students. It was special to represent the GCC student perspective and share my experiences with professionals evaluating the institution.” Ms. Bautista said the experience strengthened her understanding of the importance of student involvement and leadership within higher education. She is currently continuing her education at the University of Guam furthering her studies in accounting and business.
Distinguished student Ms. Imbat immersed herself in hands-on learning opportunities, collaborative projects, and industry-focused experiences that strengthened her passion for Guam’s tourism industry. “One quote from one of my professors was to find reasons to ‘fall in love with Guam again,’ and that changed my perspective,” Ms. Imbat shared. “Even if Guam’s tourism isn’t the way it was before, it is my home and I strive to cherish and support our beautiful island.” Imbat credits GCC for helping her build confidence in public speaking, teamwork, and professionalism while preparing her for future career opportunities within the tourism and airline industries. Following graduation, she plans to continue her education at the University of Guam pursuing Business Administration with a minor in Japanese.
